I installed this drain in the bottom of a TuffStuff stock tank buried in the ground as a duck pond. I didn't have a 1.5" drill bit, but used a 1.25" bit and forced the plug in no problem. The seal is good, no leaks. However, because the interior collar is large it means the last half inch of water will never drain from the tank. I replaced the exterior plastic stopper with a brass elbow (which then drains to a garden hose), but after adjusting the brass stripped the plastic thread and popped out. I was able to score the thread well enough to get it back on, but now I'm back on Amazon to buy a spare in case it fails again. Overall, this drain works well as long as you plan to just use the plastic plug. For attaching anything metal, I wish it had a metal thread for better durability.I purchased a very sturdy deep thick plastic tub sold on amazon and this was recommended to add a drain plug to the tub.I bought tub to soak 50lbs sulcata tortoise that is too big for soaking in under bed plastic storage container any longer. We are using this drain and plug in a large plastic tub for a makeshift portable bathtub. It was simple to install. We did not drill as large a hole as recommended in the instructions, figuring we could drill larger if needed. The smaller hole has worked well. The plug is water-tight and does not leak in the least. It is not difficult to unscrew, although I sometimes have to use a rag to get a better grip if the nut is wet. I would recommend this product - just be careful not to drill too large a hole.My daughter has some ducks and has a large wading pool in their enclosure. Ducks are messy little creatures and the water has to be changed frequently. The pool is large enough that tipping to empty was difficult. This drain allowed it to be mostly emptied through a hose. Installation was very easy and the drain seems to be well made. My daughter is happy and the ducks are happy. This should work on anything holding water that needs draining as long as the sides are relatively sturdy.Purchased these 3/4" drain plugs to install in some Tuff Stuff 37 gallon covered drums. They appear to be very sturdy and were simple and quick to install. The screw in plugs are a bit hard to unscrew once you have them tight, but I'm not using the plugs, so it doesn't really matter (bought some plastic "plumbing to garden hose" thread adapters at Lowe's so I could attach pieces of garden hose to the plugs, as these drain plugs have plumbing threads on them). Overall, I am pleased with these plugs; I did find them cheaper at a different online site afterwards, so do your homework before you buy! This plug fit perfectly in my Rubbermaid water trough. It was very easy to install if you have long arms. Otherwise you will need someone to hold one side for you if your trough is deep. I am really pleased with the quality of this piece. I would recommend this plug for anyone to use.Drain and plug work as desired. The only down side was that for a 3/4" I.D. the O.D. was a lot larger than expected. I had to grind out the hole bigger in my stock tank. It would have been nice to know ahead of time, so I could have selected a smaller diameter product.works as expected... I would suggest using an aquarium sealant just to maximize the seal... but overall it's a great drain plug.
