I bought this book because the pictures fondly remind me of the retro / collectible shop that I used to work in. This book is full of diverse, funky collections that might not have an obviously common theme but are brought together and displayed in an attractive way. This book is full of inspiration for designers or merchandisers that work in unconventional retail shops where anything might come through the door.The book is full of cool collections, items, kitsch and knick-knacks, and is a really fun book to flip through. Inside are displays of board games, perfume, hanging lamp, thread, slipper, and Japanese toy collections, to name a few. The book mostly showcases living and work areas and private collections. You have to love a book with a chapter titled, "Hoarder's Delight". I think it is a worthwhile investment for designers or those who like a modern, urban decorating style. It is a fun book for the right audience, and seems like a book Amy Sedaris would love.IF YOU ENJOY SEEING PEOPLE'S HOMES FILLED WITH EXTRAORDINARY COLLECTIONS (AS I DO), YOU CAN GET THROUGH THIS BOOK WITH INTEREST AND SPEED. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR IDEAS TO DISPLAY YOUR OWN COLLECTIONS (AS I WAS), YOU WON'T FIND MUCH HELP. SOME OF THE COLLECTIONS ARE SO UNUSUAL IN SIZE OR CONTENT, IT'S HARD TO RELATE TO TYPICAL AMERICAN COLLECTIBLES.A bit pricey for what is was,too much of the same style.recommend you get it from the library, not worth buyingI have many interior books,some visually stimulating! some not as much, this ones average. Pictures not has colourful as i would have liked. Big fan off Andrew Logans work though,
